STYLE VIEW PART A

When Style View is selected in Inventory, the screen divides into two panels an upper panel and a lower panel. A moveable splitter lets the user adjust their relative size.
The top panel is primarily used for displaying basic style information (such as department vendor, style description) and is called the style panel. The bottom panel displays primarily item information (such as size and color) and is called the item panel. The style panel can show a list styles. When a style is highlighted from this list, the item panel displays all items of that style, either as a list or in a grid format.

In the style panel, one can toggle to a form view of that style. The user has full design control over all the style-related descriptive elements, such as department name and code, vendor name and code, description and user defined fields. One can include a style image.

Item-related fields, such as size, attribute, or UPC code, can also be designed into the style header. The data displayed in such fields relates to the record currently highlighted in the item panel.
One can edit any field in either panel. If item-related fields, such as size, attribute or UPC, are displayed in the style panel, they can be edited there for that one item. For ease of editing one can also apply a change to certain fields, such as price, and optionally have that change affect all items in the style. Also multiple price levels can be views in a pricing table and modified for the entire style at once.

Inventory can be navigated using the style list alone.
Inventory can be navigated using the style list alone.

A soft goods retailer whose merchandise is primarily in styles can use style view exclusively and alternate between the lower panel between "list" or "Grid" view. This way the inventory can be navigated using the styles list alone. Using the menu designer one might choose to take Item List off the menu altogether. All the form and list design flexibility discussed elsewhere in this presentation is available in Style View.
