RETAIL PRO'S STREAMLINED ITEM LOOK-UP FUNCTIONALITY ADDS UP TO FAST RESPONSE AT POINT OF SALE

Checking product availability, locating a different size, or dealing with missing tags, are all situations easily addressed through Retail Pro's streamlined item look up functionality. And all this adds up to fast response at point of sale, enhancing the customer's experience, and maintaining a smooth flow at the checkout.

By selecting Choose Items the user can pick products from inventory in three simple ways - with Find, Filtered View, or Style View.

The Find field assumes you wish to locate a specific item. Click a column index to choose your search field and enter the first few characters of data. The system immediately narrows in on the item, which can be added to the receipt with the Select button or the Quantity field. Pressing "OK" returns you to the receipt form.

FILTERED VIEW AND STYLE VIEW EXPEDITE THE RAPID LOCATION OF A DESIRED ITEM

Filtered View lets one focus the range of items being searched, by specifying one or more descriptors - vendor, department, size, etc. This results in a selected display of items to pick from, such as "Size 9 Loafers".

Style View presents inventory as a list of styles rather than items, which can be quickly searched by any of the data fields for style level. This is convenient for helping customers find a desired piece in a different size or color. The style's items appear in a grid or a list, as preferred, in the lower part of the screen.

A SALES ASSOCIATE MAY NEED A QUICK WAY TO EDIT ITEM INFORMATION ON THE RECEIPT

Often a sales associate needs a quick and convenient way to edit certain item information on the receipt. For example, defining the quantity sold, modifying the item's price or defining a line item discount along with the reason for the discount. An item may need to be taxed differently or even be credited to another associate for sales commission purposes. All of these circumstances require fast editing of items from within the receipt.

To alter a receipt item, the user presses Edit Item or F5. A dialog window (designed by the user) provides easily access to editable information for a given line item on the receipt. Captured information such as "discount reason", "price level" or "sales associate" builds valuable report data which can be analyzed for any time period, store or sales associate.

THE USER CAN QUICKLY SELECT THE DESIRED PRICE LEVEL TO BE APPLIED TO THE ENTIRE RECEIPT

Occasionally one may wish to change all the existing items in a receipt to a different price level. For example, after ringing up the sale one realizes that the customer qualifies for a preferred or promotional price of some kind. By selecting "Price Levels", the user can quickly select the desired price level to be applied, and, optionally, choose it to be applied to the entire receipt.

Depending on various security settings an associate can delete items from the receipt or alternatively be required to enter a "return" of the item on the receipt for tracking purposes. Discarded sales receipts can be tracked and even system reboots can be detected as a means of preventing employee theft.
