OPENING SCREEN FEATURES
Retail Pro is designed to use all the power of a graphical Windows interface, optimized for the retail business environment.
The program supports touch screen, keyboard, and mouse commands, anywhere in the system. Many conventional Windows applications make the mouse a requirement, which can be cumbersome at POS.
THE USER CAN MOVE RAPIDLY FROM ANY PART OF RETAIL PRO TO ANY OTHER PART
Retail Pro displays a horizontal main menu across the top of the screen, and a vertical sub-menu down the side. This structure is consistent throughout the program.
The user selects horizontal menu icons to move among the main modules of Retail Pro. The vertical icons change for each module to allow easy navigation within it.
The user can move rapidly from any part of Retail Pro to any other part. One navigates a menu either with arrow keys, touch screen, or mouse click.
COMFORTABLE ERGONOMICS IS A KEY DESIGN PRIORITY
Comfortable ergonomics is a key design priority. The vertical menu can be either on the left or right side, as preferred.
For rapid navigation, the user can always select the Retail Pro button in the upper corner to move back to the menu and up one level in the menu structure.

Framed by these two menus, the central opening screen of Retail Pro displays an html page. Utilizing Internet connectivity, the opening screen can display a page designed specifically for the user, located on a local hard disk or on the web.
Benefits: The retailer can show a store logo on the front screen and create a series of links from that page, including:
- Display of the store closing instructions
- Showing features within Retail Pro
- Access to an on-line manual about the system
- Special messages from corporate headquarters
- Hot linking directly to a company website
- Highlighting sales tips, promotions, or other themes
