Question - What is Sage Accpac ePOS?

ePOS is an online/offline point-of-sale (POS) system that offers the flexibility of Web technology and powerful backend integration with Sage Accpac ERP. This feature-rich application automates point-of-sale processing for your storefront, for fast-paced, high-volume single or multi-site retail operations.

Question - What do users need besides ePOS to get everything up and running?

Besides the ePOS (Server and Registers) products, a user needs Accpac SM, GL, AR, AP, IC, and OE modules, POS hardware that meets the minimum system requirements, and a credit card processing client (for example, IC Verify or PCCharge Payment Server).

Question - Are there any changes to the minimum system requirements for version 5.3?

No – the minimum recommended system requirements are the same as those of version 5.2.

Question - What are the module requirements?

Sage Accpac SM, GL, AR, AP, IC, and OE modules are required. Sage Accpac Options Serialized Inventory or Lot Tracking is required for the serialized version of ePOS.

Question - What kinds of businesses benefit the most from ePOS?

ePOS works best in small and medium-sized retailers that have one or more retail outlets. A typical customer can be a specialty store, a pro shop, a convenience store, a gift shop, and the like.

Question - Can data be imported from an existing third-party POS solution?

Yes. ePOS uses the Sage Accpac database as a central repository for all item and customer data. Consequently, relevant data that is imported into ePOS will be immediately available within ePOS. Additionally, bar code mapping tables for items can be imported into the ePOS server component.

Question - What types of reports are available?

By virtue of its real-time link to Sage Accpac, all sales and customer-related reports can be generated from the central database. For front-end reporting, the following point-of-sale reports can be generated from the register:
  • Transaction report
  • Payment report
  • Salesperson report
  • Detailed transaction report
  • Category sales report
  • Cash out report
